At it's height, Asbestos was used in most building products, meaning any property built before the year 2000 is likely to have some asbestos present.
If you are worried or concerned that you may have asbestos present in your building, it's vital to find out for sure so you can manage it accordingly and keep yourself and the other occupants of the building safe from the deadly effects of breathing in the microscopic fibres.
Asbestos Sampling
Sampling should involve sample of the materials being taken followed by laboratory analysis to confirm the presence or absence of ACMs.
Any asbestos surveyor or asbestos surveying company offering results without sampling should be approached with extreme caution as there is no justification for this other than for them to avoid paying for laboratory analysis and will render the results useless as it will rely solely on presumption rather than proven fact.
With some asbestos containing materials even the most experienced surveyors will need the laboratory results to know for sure.
